Farewell BMMC

On May 13, 1963 Mesa Lutheran opened it's doors. The first patient arrived at 10:15 am after he was involved in an industrial accident . When it opened at this time it was equipped with 165 beds, 23 bassinets, three labor rooms and two delivery rooms.

On November 19, 1975 Bonnie W. arrived at this same hospital and gave birth to her son Daniel at 5:34pm. This same year marks the first year that fathers were allowed to accompany their wives into the delivery room at Mesa Lutheran.

In 2003 Mesa Lutheran changed it's name to Banner Mesa due to a change in ownership. Since then, this hospital runs with 258 beds.

It was in one of those 258 beds that I was admitted to on June 12, 2007 when I arrived with Dan at 1:00pm. Later that evening at exactly 7:50pm, Camden Daniel was brought into this world. WARNING....THE NEXT PICTURE IS NOT FOR ANYONE WITH A WEAK STOMACH

You might be wondering why in the heck I am posting about this. It is because today this very hospital took care of it's last patient. They closed their doors and opened a bigger and more advanced hospital up the road. No more history making for our family inside those walls. Farewell Banner Mesa!
