Roughin' It

Dan and I were just discussing the need for a getaway when Hope asked if we wanted to go to the cabin.  We had so much fun last time, how could we pass it up?
We stayed up late every night watching movies, playing games, and most importantly...eating.
A trip to the cabin wouldn't be complete without a visit to the old school yard.
And just to prove we really know how to rough it..... here is the family photo(don't be scared).
Our kids had a blast running around with no schedule, no rules, all play.
Too bad it had to end.

Feeling Giddy

I would be lying if I told you I didn't smile every time I see these hanging above my back door.  There is just something about them that makes me giddy inside.

Maybe it's the fact that Camden and Dan have the exact same lips.  Or that Jace inherited his perfect double chin from none other than, yours truly.  Or maybe it's because I told Dan to save room for a 5th picture next to Jace, and he gave me the look(no, that was not an announcement, just wishful thinking).

Or maybe because this new addition took less than 30 minutes to complete from start to finish.

Oh and don't worry...after reviewing these pictures I promptly dusted the crown molding which had a spider web large enough to house 100 spiders.

Finger Lickin' Good

I could seriously eat both of them up...
the boys and the PB&J.

Today I'm Dreaming...

That an awesome wall of letters will one day adorn the walls of my play room.

Matching Monday

Why is it when you're dying to snap a photo of your kids you can't get them to sit still even for one second.  I tried outside, inside, on the couch, with a snack, before church, after church.  Those little monkeys!
If you haven't noticed, their ties are my latest and greatest fascination.  I can't stop making them.  The fabric calls to me, especially when it's on sale.
Is it bad I let my boys wear converse to church?  They went perfect with the awesomely pink ties.  But heaven knows if Dan tried to wear converse to church I would fall over dead?

For The Future

The need to post these pictures are two fold-

One:  Next year when Jace is bigger than Camden and the roles are reversed, I can say, "you deserve it"
Two:  So Camden can take full credit for the awesome moves Jace will soon master

Baby Shower

I had the opportunity to throw a baby shower for a sweet friend back in May.

I'm not a fan of games, and uncomfortable "have-to's" when I'm a guest...so I kept it really casual and most importantly, yummy!

The theme was pickles and Ice cream.  The following saying was part of the invitation:

Pickles and Ice Cream
for the mom-to-be...
Not quite as tasty for you & me.
I set paper pickles out next to pens if people wanted to leave her any advice.  I remember being pregnant and loved hearing everyones advice on how they did things.  But after my first baby came...people were welcome to keep their advice to themselves unless I asked for it.  Everyone has the best way for everything, but as a new mom you gotta figure out what works best for you and your baby.
The spread was a million different toppings served with all different ice cream flavors, and of course...
a side of pickles!
